Foxy Fall

Happy Friday Cottage Cutz fans!  It's Jeanne today with a cute fall card made with one of the new Christmas dies!  I made a small notecard size card using the cute fox from the Holiday Gnomes w/ Fox die set.  This card is also for this week's Clean and Simple challenge at Splitcoaststampers.  The challenge this week is to make a CAS card with an element that begins with "F".  Fall and Fox - I have this one covered.
I first cut all the pieces from fall colored card stock and patterned paper.  I'll admit that the leaves were some that I had left over from a previous card.  If I have left over die cuts, I store them in the envelope with the die so I'll have them handy if needed.
I used a sponge dauber and added some shading to the fox, then assembled him.
Using the third smallest circle from the Stitched Circle set, I cut three Pumpkin Pie and one white circle.  From the plaid paper I cut one circle using the second smallest of the Nested Scallop Circles.
I stacked the plain circles with the white on top and then glued those to the plaid scalloped one.  The fox was glued on top.
I added the medallion, some foliage and the sentiment to a 3.5 x 5 inch note card.
For the finishing touch I added a few matching rhinestones.  I love my bling!  This little fox is so versatile.  Without his hat he is perfect for fall, but add his hat and he's great for Christmas!

Be sure to visit the online store - the new Christmas dies are wonderful!

Circle Die Cut Background - Gladiolus Flower

Welcome to Wednesday's blog post. It's Janet from SugarShine Designs here to share a summer card with a die cut circle background. I'm always looking for ways to get the most of my basic dies and this is one more idea for that. I hope it will inspire you to try it. Circles could work equally well on a scrapbook page don't you think? This technique adds a lot of texture, especially if you emboss them as I did here. The stitched detail on the circles really add a nice touch to the overall image too.

Here in North Carolina, we're already hitting low 90's regularly so I am totally in the mood to create summer scenes on my projects. Today's project features the Gladiolus stamp and die set which is the August flower in the Birthday Flowers release from January. I had to have this one because Glads were my Grandma's favorite garden flower and August is my birthday month. After coloring the die cut with PrismaColor pencils and a little Wink of Stella on the flower centers, I mounted it on the background with foam tape. The card also features the Discover Expression Plus die which I coated with clear heat embossing to add thickness and gloss. So pretty!

A couple weeks ago, Pam shared her gorgeous Prayers card. She used torn vellum as a background for one of the new word dies and that inspired me to do something similar. In my card, I used some glittered fiber from my stash to mount the word.

There's a lot more to share with you about this project. To find out all the details of how to make this card along with dimensions and supplies, please go to the video below.

Thanks for spending some time here at the Scrapping Cottage. Hope you'll be back tomorrow to see another project from our creative Design Team!

Paper Embellishments with Layered Die cuts

Hello dear friends,

How is everyone doing!!!!! I hope you will have a super crafty Sunday today.
Have you ever wondered what a range of paper embellishments can be created with die cuts.

We are always short of tags, mini cards or even decorative embellishments and try to make quick simple ones . So here I have five creative paper embellishments that can be used as tags, cards and even for scrapbook layouts.
CottageCutz has a wide range of dies and you can play with them to create these super cute things. And the best part is you use all your paper scraps that you have been hoarding all this while. So have a look at these. Get inspired and start playing with your dies.

Aren't they super cute!!! And I had fantastic time playing with my die cuts.
I gathered all my paper  scraps and grouped them in shades of various colours. Then I picked one floral die and cut many flowers from one shade.
Similarly , If I chose a stitched die, I cut many die cuts of different colours from paper scrap.
Cut several designs in many shades and layer them with foam tape. You can create hundreds of designs.

Here are the dies I used for my embellishments.

You can check all the amazing collection of dies at the CottageCutz Store.
Do share your views on these pretty paper creations. Thanks for stopping by.
