Valentine Pup!

Hi Scrapping Cottage Family!

It is Pam creating with you today!  I am making Valentine's for friends and family and the Cottage Cutz dies are so much fun to use!  Plus they are so darling!!
Design Steps:
 1.  Use an A2 white card base and cut a slightly smaller piece of red then run it through a heart embossing folder. Glue to the card front

 2.  I had a set of pink 3 x 3 cards with matching envelops I decided to use.  Glue the small envelope to the card front at an angle as shown.  Then cut a 2 7/8 x 2 7/8 piece of heart DP and glue to the front of the 3 x 3 little card
 3.  Decorate the inside of the card by cutting a 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 white Nested Stitched Scallop Square and gluing it to the inside.  Next cut out the words Hugs & Kisses and glue it to the white square.  Complete the inside by cutting a stitched heart from the Stitched Cupcake die

4.  Slide the little card inside the envelope

5.  Cut out your little pup using the Nurse Pup.  I used light brown and dark brown card stock.  I colored the nose and eyes with a black marker

6.  Attach the pup to the little white envelope add a red bow and some additional hearts cut from the Stitched Cupcake die and then finally stamp your sentiment

Valentine's Day!!

Hello Everyone!

It is Pam creating with you today! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas celebration!  I can't believe I am saying this but I am starting on my Valentine's!!! The little bear I am using is actually from our Get Well release.  But she is very versatile and so is the sentiment. They are perfect for Valentine's Day cards!

Design Steps:

 1.  Cut an A2 white card base then on the front flap cut off a 2 inch strip.  Cover the inside first with a red piece of card stock then a piece of DP.  Next on the left side of the inside cut a 2 x 5 1/8 piece of white card stock and glue inside to the left

2.  Using the Stitched Cupcake die set cut out 4 stitched red hearts and glue 3 of them next to the white panel on the inside of the card.  Then glue the remaining heart to the white panel as shown below
 3.  Next cut a piece of red card stock for the front flap at 2 1/8 x 5 3/8 then layer on a piece of DP at 2 x 5 1/8. Glue to the front
4.  Use the Sweetheart Doilies die and cut out the largest circle in white and then the next largest in red glue together
 5.  Cut the sentiment Sending Hugs in red using the Sending Hugs Bear die
5.  Glue the sentiment to the front flap of the card and also attach the heart doily

6.  Using the Sending Hugs Bear die cut out the bear in brown, the flower and bow in red, the stem in green and the tummy in tan.  Shade all the pieces and assemble them add black rhinestones for the eyes

 7. Place pop dots on the back of the bear and place the bear onto the heart doily

Birthday Gift Card!

Hello Scrapping Cottage Fans!

It is Pam from Stamper at Heart Blog Spot

I know now a days that so many young people like gift cards.  And it really takes all the thrill out of hunting for the perfect gift!  However it is a lot easier and faster to get the gift card.  So to make it a little more personal I decided to make the gift card holder!

Designer steps:
1.  Start with a 4 1/8 x 9 3/4 piece of white card stock.  Score at 2 1/8, 5, 6 and 7.  Fold as shown this is the inside of the gift card

 2.  Flip the card over and glue the mountain fold (which is now the vally fold) together.  Then flip the card back over

 3.  Cut 4 pieces of DP at 4 x 2 3/4 and cut 2 pieces at 2 x 4.  Working on the inside of the card glue one of the 4 x 2 3/4 down as shown

 4.  On the inside glue the flap for the card holder down with a tiny lines of glue on both of the far left and right edges and then push it down onto the DP

 5.  Still working on the inside glue the 2 x 4 inch DP to the top flap and glue the 2 3/4 x 4 piece of DP to the bottom half of the gift card

 6.  Flip the card over and glue down the DP to the front of the card

7.  Next cut out the cupcake using the  Cottage Cutz Stitched Cupcake die also using Cottage Cutz Celebrate die cut out the sentiment.   Assemble the pieces

8.  Glue to the front flap as shown

 9.  Flip the card over and add a sentiment just below the pocket for the gift card and add a small velcro dot for secure closing

Hugs from the Herd

Hello Scrapping Cottage friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit today. It's Mary Marsh here bringing you the Saturday edition of the Blog.

Hope you have been enjoying all the different cards from the DT using the new Expressions Plus word dies. The team has shown some really creative ways to use these dies with your existing collection. With 35 word phrases in these dies, there is so much you can do with them in your own card making.

Combining the word die phrases with a stamped sentiment is just one idea. That's the direction I am going with my card today.  I did this technique with this card and another idea popped into my head using the Baby Clothesline and Hugs Phrase dies.

I need a card of encouragement for a friend of mine who is battling cancer. And, the sweet baby animals are just too cute. And, they worked perfectly with the Hugs Phrase and sentiment I used.

So let's get started with some details on how I created my card.

Mint Card Base: 5 1/2" x 4 1/4"
Patterned Paper: 5 3/8" x 4 1/8"

Step 1: As I was looking through my cardstock and patterned papers, I found some card bases that have the look of water coloring. This is so popular in card making right now but I never like how mine turn out. That was the reason I bought the card bases. They are 4 different color schemes in the pack and I chose the mint.  With the coral hugs word and all my animal colors, I thought this would be a good base color.
Step2: I used the Baby Clothesline die and cut all the animals. Instead of cutting in white and coloring them, I used different colored cardstock for each animal. Either way works just fine. Just depends on what you want to do. Ranger multi-matte medium is my adhesive for securing the pieces together.
Step 3: I cut the Hugs Phrase in coral cardstock. I only show one cut in this photo but on assembly I decided to cut another one. It just gives it a bit of dimension.

Step 4: Now that everything is cut, it's time for card assembly. First, I stamped my sentiment. Although I forgot to take a photo after this step. I used a combination of glue dots and the multi-matte medium to secure the animals to the patterned paper.
Attached my hugs phrase and then used some coral twine because I wanted it to look like the animals are holding the word.
Step 5: I die cut a few hearts to add to the top of the card. This helped to balance it out for me. The stitched hearts are part of the Stitched Cupcakes dies set. They were the perfect size to fill in the open area. I cut the hearts in the coral cardstock. This color works nicely with the mint.
Well, that completes my card for this week.  Hope I have given you another idea for a way to use the Expression Phrase dies. See you next Saturday. We are on Instagram now. Check us out here.
