From Our Home To Yours

Hi!

It's Anja here. Today I have a bigger project for you. As one of the last projects for this year I made a Christmas scene that will decorate my craft room in this holiday season. I had a frame in my shelf for quite some time and decided to use it for my project and give it a winter touch.

For this project I used:
- Cottage Cutz dies (Farm Truck w/Tree, Build A House Set 2, Build A House Accessories, Tree, Christmas Trailer, Fireplace w/ Accessories),
- Distress Inks and Oxides,
- black card stock for background (26x21 cm),
- white card stock for die cuts,
- white acrylic paint,
- brush,
- sponge,
- plastic stencil (bricks),
- silver pigment ink,
- white pigment ink,
white picture frame (20x25 cm),
- pencil,
- black pen,
- scissors,
- paper glue.

First I cut all the pieces. I cut additional pieces for the inner side of the windows and door. I colored it with yellow.

Next I colored the parts of the house. I used plastic stencil to make it look as it's build out of bricks.

Then I colored all the other pieces and glued it together. I used white acrylic paint and a sponge to color around the edges to look like snow (not photographed).

The I made the background. I used black cardstock and colored it with blue Oxide inks and white pigment ink. For the finish I splashed it with acrylic paint to look like snow is falling.

And then I cut the bottom part of the scene. I cut the snow ground out of the white card stock. In the end I just adhered all the pieces together and inserted the scene in the frame.

And my project was done.

That's all from me for today. I wish you all a Merry Christmas. I hope you can spend it with people you love.

See you again next Sunday for my last project in 2019.

Cards with pets

Hi, Janja is here.
Christmas is almost here and we all probably ended up with our Christmas cards.
Today, I prepared three cards with some new dies from Pets release.

- white card base: 4.25 x 5.35" (10,7 x 13,9 cm), folded
- kraft card base: 5.3 x 5.3" (13,5 x 13,5 cm), folded
- colored card stock
- different ink pads
- plastic stencil: brick wall
- double-sided sticky tape, double-sided foam tape, foam pads, glue
- glossy accents

Start this card by cutting a fish, bowl and cat.
I used colored card stock. For greater depth, I used different ink pads. On the picture is missing a shelf that I cut out later.

Use a plastic stencil brick wall for the background.
Cut the background to size 5 x 5" (12,7 x 12,7 cm). Paste it with a double-sided sticky tape to the card base. Stamp a sentiment.
Attach the fish bowl and cat to the shelf with foam pads.
Use glossy accents for air bubbles.

-------------------

Cut out all the pieces with the die - Rufus The Hound. I used the die - Fireplace with Accessories for small bows.

Cut two patterned papers of this size: 4 x 5.2" (10 x 13,2 cm) and 4 x 2.9" (10 x 7,3 cm). I printed the sentiment in Word.

For the final touch, draw a shadow around the dog with a brush. Apply a glossy accents to the water in a bowl.

------------------------

Cut out and assemble Miss Kitty.

Prepare background and two frames. Cut out two circles and stamp a sentiment. Attach frame and Miss Kitty to card base as shown using double-sided foam tape.
Finally, add a little pearl to the flower.

Have a nice day.

Look Through A Window

Hi!

It's Anja here on the last day of 2017. It was an awesome year for me. I got a new job, met a lot of new people and got a ton of new experiences. One of the highlights for sure was joining Cottage Cutz Design Team.

For my last craft project I made a card with a window and decorated interior. It was such a fun making it.

For this card I used:
 - Cottage Cutz dies (Fireplace w/ Accessories, Victorian Window, Lantern w/ Holly Vine),
- Distress Inks (Peeled Paint, Forest Moss, Pine Needles, Wild Honey, Mustard Seed) and Oxides (Fired Brick, Vintage Photo, Antique Linen, Walnut Stain, Black Soot),
- craft card base (14,5x10,5 cm),
- craft and white cardstock for background (10x14 cm),
- white cardstock for die cuts,
- white pigment ink pad,
- adhesive foam pads,
- double sided adhesive tape,
- textured plate - bricks,
- acetate foil
- craft knife,
- paper glue.

First I cut two holes for the window, one in the card base and the other into the craft rectangle. I die cut the window first two use it for drawing the cutting line.

Then I made the brick background. I used white pigment ink to color around the edges of the craft paper.

I used acetate foil for the window. I adhered it with double sided tape.

I used adhesive foam pads to add the brick background.

I used Distress Oxides to color around white brick background.

Then I die cut and colored all the pieces for the window and the fireplace.

And then I had to glue everything together. This is the final result.

I'm off to my friends house now to spend the New Year's eve there.

I wish you all the best in 2018. Lots of peace, smiles, health, love and positive energy. Have a great celebration tonight.

See you again in 2018 :)
