Welcome To Our Home Mini Décor Project

Hello Scrapping Cottage friends!
Melinda here with you on this Terrific Tuesdie!  Today I am sharing a Patriotic Mini Home Décor project. It features some sweet little cupcakes from one of the dies from the New Sweet Treats Release!
Here is my project.
I started with a cute little distressed home metal shaped silhouette. I found it at the dollar store.

I created the inner sentiment on my computer. I printed it off on some plain white cardstock. I printed it off on four different sizes as I wasn't sure which size would look the best.

Once I picked the size I felt would work, I used the third largest pierce circle die and cut it out.

I then cut, colored and assembled some of the sweet little cupcakes from the Pedestal Stand W/ Cupcakes die. I cut all the pieces out in white cardstock. I only had to color in the red and blue pieces. Easy peasy!  I also added some clear stickles to the "stars" on the cupcakes and on some of the white frosting.  I used some red stickles on the berries to give them a little sparkle.

I used some foliage from the Christmas Floral and Lantern With Pine Boughs Dies. I cut them all out in white cardstock as well. I then colored in the little stems with the "holly" berries on them.

I also added a dot of some blue stickles to the centers of the stars on the image. The little bow I added on the chimney is also from the Lantern With Pine Boughs Die.

Here are a couple of closeup photos of the cute cupcakes and foliage. You can see them sitting on the cute base that is a part of the die as well.

I did mount the white pierced circle with the image onto the next size up pierced circle that I used to cut out some Kraft cardstock. I added some foam tape between them to give it all a little lift from the base.

Here it is on my dining room table. I decided I didn't quite like it here. Felt like it got lost in the shuffle....lol.

Here is where I decided to put it. on my table in my entrance.

Here is the new sweet treats release.

The Dies I used to create this project:

I also used the Lantern With Pine Boughs Die which is a discontinued die. However both the Christmas Farmhouse Floral and Deer Floral Spray dies both have some great "Holly berry" type alternatives.

Make sure you head over to the CottageCutz YouTube channel and check out all of the amazing projects on there. Our video team is doing a wonderful job of filling the channel with all sorts of creative content! You don't want to miss it!

Well that about covers it for today! Until the next time, have a wonderfully craft-die day!

Country Christmas

Good Morning Scrapping Cottage Friends,

It is Pam sharing with you on the Thursday post.

Just a reminder that our online store is featuring some beautifully detailed Christmas dies.  The dies are from Christmas Part 1 (22 designs), Christmas Part 2 (21 designs), and Christmas Part 3 (12 designs).  All of these fabulous dies are on sale right now in the store for 25% off.  Just click here to check them out.

Today,  I am working with the Farm Truck Ornament die.  I just love the country feel to this sweet little ornament.  This is a quick and easy card great for multiples!

Design Steps:
1.  Using the Farm Truck Ornament cut it out of a deep red, using the 4th from the largest Pierced Circle die cut one out of a grey parchment paper, using the Lantern with Pine Boughs cut out 2 different green shades of card stock. I made 3 cuts to get the amount of pine boughs I needed
2.  Use an A2 grey parchment base, cut a deep red piece of card stock 4 x 5 1/4 and a piece of plaid DP 3 3/4 x 5.  Glue the red and plaid paper together then glue to the base card
4.  Glue the pierced circle to the card as shown and then glue the ornament on the top of the circle be careful to get it lined up.  Arrange the pine boughs in the upper left corner of the card
5.  To complete the card add a small ribbon to the upper left hand side of the card

Christmas Lantern

Hi!  Lois here on a Saturday with my weekly post.  I can't believe that it's the end of October already!  Can Christmas be close behind?  I've got another Christmas card today, using a brand-new die from CottageCutz called Lantern with Pine Boughs.  Be sure to check it out, as well as all the dies in the latest release from CottageCutz.

Before I explain how I made my card, I want to let you know that CottageCutz/The Scrapping Cottage is sponsoring a video blog hop that started yesterday (October 27th) and continues today (October 28th).  Janet Axtman, one of the CottageCutz DT members, as well as several other video artists will be featuring cards made with CottageCutz dies . . . and there will be prizes!!!    Each one of the hop participants will be presenting prizes to visitors who comment on her blog, and CottageCutz/The Scrapping Cottage will be giving a grand prize.  So be sure to check it out!

To start my card, I cut all the pieces for the lantern from white cardstock, which had been backed with a Scor-Pal adhesive sheet.

I colored  the pieces using Copic markers.

Then I cut my cardstock as follows:

White - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"
Dark Green - 4" x 5 1/4"
Light Green patterned paper - 3 7/8" x 5 1/8"

After scoring the white cardstock at 4 1/4" and folding it in half, I glued the dark green cardstock onto it; and stamped the sentiment in the upper left-hand corner of the patterned paper.

I then embossed  the patterned paper with a pine bough embossing folder and glued it down to the card base.

All that remained was to build the lantern in the lower right-hand corner of the card base.  I allowed some of the pieces to extend beyond the edge of the card for some additional interest.

The CottageCutz die used on this card is:

Be sure to check out the CottageCutz website.  The new release has so many nice Christmas dies, both religious and secular . . . Nativity scenes and Santa Claus!

Christmas Shine!

Good Morning Scrapping Cottage Friends!

It is Pam sharing with your today!  I am loving this new die Lantern with Pine Boughs!  I decided to use some gold card stock to really make it pop! I love how the green and red look against the gold.  The colors are so beautiful together.

Design Steps:
1.  Using the Lantern Die cut all of the pieces out using the following colors: red, gold, light brown, dark brown, green, cream and yellow.
2.  Use copic markers to add some shadowing to the pieces

 3.  Cut out a white large Cottage Cutz Scalloped Eyelet Rectangle and assemble the pieces onto the rectangle
 4. Cut an A2 white card stock base and a gold snowflake piece of DP 4 x 5 1/4.  Glue the DP to the white card base then glue down the Scalloped Eyelet Rectangle
